Where mobiles, laptops, and computers have become a\nsource of information for everyone, other facets of media like print still hold\nsignificant importance. With a rapidly evolving world, the dynamics of media\nare also changing rapidly. New ingenious ways are coming up to interest each\none of us as to what the future holds for us. So, how did it all begin?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Media in the early days<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The only\nform of media that existed till the early decades of the 20<sup>th<\/sup>\ncentury was print. The first major breakthrough that happened was with the\narrival of Radio in 1920 and since then the journey of advertising has been\nupwards and onwards. Radio\u2019s arrival in India in the year 1927 turned out to be\na glorious opportunity for advertising and to reach people on a larger scale.\nThings gradually evolved with the arrival of televisions in 1959. India faced\ndrastic changes in the 1990s with the arrival of cable television as it paved a\nway for mass communication and advertising. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Evolution<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\narrival of the&nbsp;telephone didn\u2019t do much for advertising until they evolved\ninto mobile phones. At first, when mobile phones had small black and white\nscreens, various ways like SMS, Voice and flash messages for advertising were\nused. With the evolution of mobile phones, advertising got an unprecedented boost\nthrough big colorful screens as compared to the early days. Today it\u2019s possible\nto reach a respective targeted audience&nbsp;through ingenious methods made\npossible by social media platforms and more. People are being shown specific\nadvertisements at their favourite timings with the help of data and analysis.\nToday, we are able to reach the consumer at ease of time and place through\ntheir favourite screens. Apart from these, the latest technologies like VR are\nproving to be disruptive in a matchless fashion. Virtual reality is being used\nin real estate, education, hospitality and more. The kind of experience it\noffers is truly mesmerizing and is making a greater impact. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Role of media buying <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Media buying comes into play when a brand or product\nintends for paid marketing. In media buying, the aim is to identify and buy ad\nspace on channels that are relevant to the target audience at the correct time,\nwith the least amount of expenditure. Media buying is for both \u2013 traditional\nmarketing channels like television, radio, print and also for digital channels\nlike websites, social media, streaming. In India, since the arrival of social\nmedia platforms and other online mediums, digital advertising has been seeing\nexponential growth. Before the arrival of digital channels, major OOH options\nwere \u2013 billboards, digital bulletins, posters, and hoardings. With each passing\nday, brands are regulating their expenditure and are investing more in digital\nmedia.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Impact of Digital Media on Advertising in India<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The existence of Digital media has helped <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dotsdesign.in\/digital-marketing-company-in-pune.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Digital advertising (opens in a new tab)\">Digital advertising<\/a> bubble out from traditional advertising which is now booming like never before.
