Brands casting celebrities in their\nendorsements have a different impact on the audiences owing to various factors.\nEvery celebrity carries a different kind of audience as its fan base and to\nreach them, brands press for celebrity endorsements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Inception and today<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In India, this kind of\nmarketing strategy started with LUX, where the brand showcased Bollywood actresses\nin their endorsements to reach a larger audience. LUX positioned itself as the\n\u2018beauty soap of the stars\u2019 and it has been so influential that the brand still\ncontinues to carry that image. Print ads with their beautiful faces, short copy\ndescribing the effect of Lux and celebrity\u2019s beauty and the relation between\nthem were launched and printed across the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"542\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dotsdesign.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/one.jpg\" alt=\"marketing strategy started with LUX\" class=\"wp-image-756\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.3dotsdesign.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/one.jpg 542w, https:\/\/www.3dotsdesign.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/one-300x207.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 542px) 100vw, 542px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Such advertisements are\nsuccessful in offering a sense of pride to consumers as they feel they gained\nstatus when they bought a product endorsed by a star. As\ncelebrities,&nbsp;those days were put on a pedestal and there was a distance\nbetween the star and the average consumer. Today, various brands promote such\ntypes or endorsements which help them reach a larger audience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Introducing a brand<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It gets a lot easier for the\naudience to relate to a brand, build trust, and connect when it is associated\nwith a well-known face. New products or services may take longer to establish\nthemselves in this highly competitive market. Whereas launching the brand with\na celebrity sets the stage for reliability and trust. It also enables and\nenhances the authenticity of a brand helping it make a bigger impact.\nEndorsements with celebrities casting in it also help register the product in\npeople\u2019s minds for a longer period of time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are several brands\nthat have launched their products using a celebrity face or have done stunning\ncampaigns using celebrities to produce unmatched results. For instance,\nMicromax cast Hugh Jackman in their endorsements. The campaign helped the brand\ngain more traction, increase their sales and also helped them revamp their\nidentity. Another campaign that helped Pan Bahar create a buzz was its\nassociation with a very famous celebrity \u2013 Pierce Brosnan. The James Bond fame\ncelebrity\u2019s association with the brand became the talk of the town highlighting\nthe brand in a never seen before way.&nbsp; The campaign gained a lot of\ntraction and helped the brand create an impact. The Indian Premier League is a\nplatform for both national and international brands, players, celebrities and\nto come together and generate revenue through advertisements. A sport watched\nby millions sets a platform for all to do the new. New advertising campaigns\nare run by all the brands that help them gain more traction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Celebrity VS Non-Celebrity Endorsements <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When compared, the celebrity\nversus non-celebrity endorsements showcases a lot of difference in their\nimpressions, reach and popularity. Often the audience chooses to skip basic ads;\nhowever, ads with their celebrities casting in it get attention. It catches the\neye of the audience, engages them for a longer period when their favorites\nappear on the screen. Not all non-celebrity endorsements fail to make an impact;\nsome really make a good impact through their clutter-breaking campaigns but\ncalls for taking chances. However, an endorsement with celebrity casting in it\nis an assurance for more traction and engagement as compared to celebrity vs\nnon-celebrity endorsement.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Revenue aspects<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Celebrity endorsements are\nexpensive but they are potent for giving better results as compared to other\nkinds&nbsp;of endorsements. The ad expenditure goes higher when it comes to\nsigning celebrities and for promoting on a bigger platform\/channel. Celebrities\nusually charge less when it comes to advertising for govt. as it is a public\ninitiative and choose to charge higher for private ads. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We, at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dotsdesign.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"3 Dots Design (opens in a new tab)\">3 Dots Design<\/a>, have been successful in doing some result producing celebrity campaigns for our clients. One of our celebrity campaigns to highlight is our work done for \u2013 Namrata Group (Real Estate). The campaign named <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dotsdesign.in\/happynest.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"\u2018Happy City\u2019  (opens in a new tab)\">\u2018Happy City\u2019 <\/a>featured Marathi celebrities Amruta Subhash and Prasad Oak as a family longing for a new home. We crafted a series of 5 TV commercials that helped us reach a larger audience. The campaign received an overwhelming response and helped the client skyrocket their sales after the launch.
